Compliance & AML
Last updated: 21 July 2026
Sterling Payments Limited is committed to preventing money laundering, terrorist financing and financial crime. This statement summarises our Compliance and Anti-Money-Laundering (AML) approach.
1. Know Your Customer (KYC)
Every client is onboarded with identity and business verification before transacting. We may request additional documentation at any time and may restrict accounts pending verification.
2. Human-reviewed settlement
By design, no pay-in or pay-out settles automatically — each is reviewed before it completes. This gives us a control point to detect and stop suspicious activity.
3. Monitoring
We monitor transactions for unusual patterns, apply per-reviewer approval limits, and maintain an immutable ledger and audit trail of every money movement.
4. Prohibited activity
Accounts must not be used for fraud, unlicensed financial services, sanctioned parties, or any activity prohibited by law or payment-network rules. Breaches lead to suspension and, where required, reporting.
5. Sanctions & reporting
We screen against applicable sanctions lists and cooperate with regulators and law-enforcement, including filing reports where the law requires, without notice to the account holder where prohibited.
6. Record-keeping
KYC and transaction records are retained for the period required by applicable law.
