Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Sterling payments platform, APIs, dashboards and hosted checkout pages (together, the "Service"), operated by Sterling Payments Limited ("Sterling", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility & accounts

The Service is offered to registered businesses. You must provide accurate onboarding and KYC information, keep it current, and are responsible for all activity under your account and API keys. Keep your credentials, secret keys and transfer PIN confidential.

2. The Service

Sterling facilitates UPI collections (pay-ins) and bank/UPI disbursements (pay-outs). Every pay-in and pay-out is reviewed by a person before it settles; nothing settles automatically. We are not a bank and do not pay interest on wallet balances.

3. Acceptable use

You may not use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent or prohibited activity, or in breach of applicable payment-network or regulatory rules. We may decline, hold or reverse any transaction that we reasonably believe is high-risk, unauthorised or non-compliant.

4. Fees & settlement

Applicable fees are shown on your dashboard and deducted per transaction. Settlement to your wallet or beneficiary occurs after review and successful execution. You are responsible for taxes on your use of the Service.

5. Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, suspected fraud, or to comply with law or a regulator's direction. You may close your account once outstanding obligations are settled.

6. Liability

The Service is provided on an "as is" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sterling is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid to us in the three months preceding the claim.

7. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time; material changes will be notified through the dashboard. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
